Setup Guide

This guide is here to assist you in establishing your swarm network, enabling you to link your Linux devices within a secure full-mesh overlay network. This works regardless of your devices’ locations or the manner in which they are connected. It even operates if your devices are isolated from the Internet behind a NAT or Firewall.

Manage your swarm network using the SwarmGuard Industrial mobile application.

Download the app from either the Google Play Store or the App Store

Prepare a first device
for your swarm network

Ensure your device runs Linux with a kernel version of 5.4 or higher to integrate it successfully into your swarm network.

Install the Docker Engine by following these instructions.

Install the SwarmGuard Agent.

Install a regular agent by running the command

curl -fsSL https://swarmguard.io/install.sh | sh

Start SwarmGuard on the device

Ensure your device runs Linux with a kernel version of 5.4 or higher to integrate it successfully into your swarm network.

Start SwarmGuard by running

swarm up

Use the SwarmGuard Industrial mobile application and scan the QR code issued by the swarm up command on the device.

Your device is now part of the swarm network.
